Jonathan Adams is from Athens, Georgia. As a young boy Adams' artistic curiosity was initially sparked by his father's study of the acoustic guitar. Inspired by a neighbor, Jonathan embarked on his exploration of the fingerstyle technique and was drawn to popular classics by groups such as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Simon and Garfunkel. As the young guitarist continued to explore the music of the acoustic guitar he was soon drawn to the beauty and diversity of the classical repertoire.
He has developed his own eclectic blend of music which captures the best of classical, Celtic and popular styles. From Bach to the Beatles, Adams' arrangements and original compositions have expanded the repertoire of fingerstyle guitar with a flair for creativity rarely experienced.
Adams' education at the University of Georgia afforded him the opportunity to fine-tune his technical expertise under the watchful eye of Segovia student John Sutherland. His participation as a performer in numerous master classes at Montana State University gave Adams the opportunity of working closely with world-renowned artist Christopher Parkening. In addition, his immersion in classes conducted by Eliot Fisk and Adrian Legg have broadened the yount artist's musical perspective.
Adams' genuine warmth and personality are evident during his rousing performances. The instrument and the artist interact with ease. Intensely talented and incredibly polished, Adams' light-hearted style can charm any audience.
In addition to his exciting recordings and busy performance schedule, Jonathan also maintains a strong commitment to teaching and educating other young musicians.
